You may know the Christian song Pass It On, which begins with the familiar words, “It only takes a spark to get the fire going.” The song reminds us that God’s love, once kindled in our hearts, is something we want to share with others.
I’ve been a member of St. John’s for more than twenty years. Through the people and ministries of St. John’s, the spark of God’s love grew in my heart into a flame and a desire to share that love with others.
One way I share God’s love is by making a financial pledge to support St. John’s. Each year, I prayerfully consider the amount I can give. At times, I’ve stretched my budget to give more, and God has helped me find ways to fulfill my pledge. It feels good to contribute to a church that attracts and retains wonderful clergy and staff, cares for our beautiful buildings and grounds, and reaches out to communities near and far.
Over the past twenty years, my faith has been nurtured and strengthened by the people and experiences of St. John’s. Making a financial pledge is one way I express my gratitude for God’s many blessings and faithfully share the abundance God provides each day. It is also one way I help pass God’s love on to others.
